Who am I?
Hi!, I’m Ewan, a final year Mathematics student at Lancaster. SSAGO has been the highlight of my time at University, and I’ve made so many friends and memories over my time that I want to give back and help others have the same experience. You may recognise me from looking very stressed at Oktoberfest and Rally Through Time, very cold at Leeds of the Rings, or very uncoordinated at any ceilidh!
Why vote for me?
Primarily, I am passionate about SSAGO and want to help more people to experience it, through helping new clubs to form, existing clubs to grow and Indie members to get more out of events.
Secondly, I have been thoroughly involved with SSAGO over my 4 years, being Logistics Officer and Secretary for Oktoberfest and Rally Through Time, Vice President and President of Lancaster, running/ assisting with running Northwest Freshers Camp for the past two years, and currently Chair of Policy Fixers. I’ve found these roles immensely rewarding and they have given me an excellent basis for the step up into Pink.
Thirdly, I’ve had a variety of roles outside of SSAGO to give me perspective of any improvements. I’ve held seats on the highest-level bodies of both my SU and my University, as well as Chairing my departments Student EDI committee and being a Trustee of a local Scout Group, so I am well versed in how other large organisations work and best practice that could be implemented, as well as getting used to paperwork and bureaucracy beyond anything that SSAGO can offer!
How will you know if my term has been a success?
I’ve always believed in setting out success criteria before starting anything, and this is nothing different. If you elect me as Members Officer, these are the criteria I will hold myself to, and be held to, this year to judge if the year has been a success:
